Surreal

Surreal is a word others have used for this style, not me. Much of my initial interest in painting this way stems from my background in illustration. I first painted surreal oil paintings in Japan in the mid-'90s and although there are glimmers of the same forms and dimensions of that time, I believe my style to be much more relatable to Intimatism than surrealism–the story, for me, is now key.
