Paintings
There is something about starting to paint on a large canvas that excites, thrills, and terrifies me. A blank canvas is utterly perfect before an artist fills it with their noise. The audacity. The trees that make the framework and the cotton or linen for the canvas... the metal tacks or staples–I start with such gratitude and respect for the origins of the materials and the craftsman that allow me the honor to create on their craft.
